Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

Location: Caneyville

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a step-down unit requiring ACLS certification and night shift availability.

Job Details

• Work on a 26-bed, all-private-room Med/Surg Telemetry unit serving as a step-down from the ICU,

• All patients are on telemetry with continuous heart monitoring,

• Patient population includes GI bleed, COVID, respiratory distress, and other complex cases requiring critical drips,

• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 4-5:1,

• 13-week contract with 36 hours per week,

• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week,

Job Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license currently in hand,

• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS,

• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred,

• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures,

• MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges,

• Delegates tasks appropriately and monitors team members' completion of delegated patient care activities,

• Participates in unit-based quality improvement initiatives including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction,

• Nursing practice is evidence-based and incorporates all four phases of the nursing process
