The Surgery Unit at Spring View Hospital embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication. This is a 10-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support (4 in OR and 6 in Recovery).

How you'll contribute

The RN demonstrates professional development and clinical competency; utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

* Performs admission assessment and reassessments as set forth within hospital Standards of Care time frames.

* Documents accurately in the patient's medical record.

* Monitors response to medication.

* Monitors lab work results.

* Evaluates and addresses the education needs of patient and family and coordinates discharge assistance including home health needs indicated.

* Conveys to supervisor any problems related to supplies or equipment as well as information pertaining to problem.

* Performs reassessments of patient based on guidelines set forth in the SOC.

* Notifies physician, anesthesia provider, charge nurse, and other individuals when appropriate, of any adverse changes in patient's condition.

* Ability to work in all areas of surgical services i.e., outpatient, circulate, scrub, PACY, and Phase II.

What we're looking for

* RN license required

Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

* ACLS and PALS is required within 6 months of hire.

* 1-2 years of experience preferred

* Certification in area of specialty preferred
