Description
The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long‑term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Charge Nurse. This position will serve in the role of Charge Nurse and supervise professional and ancillary employees in the administration of efficient nursing care.
Must have an active, unrestricted/probated status as a Registered Nurse on the KBN licensure verification.

A fingerprint‑supported national background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment.
This position, in Hopkins County has an approved Locality Premium of $14.36 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).
This job classification is approved for the following shift premiums, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(2), which are applied to the base salary:
- Second & Third shift: 15%
- Weekend: 25%
- Holidays: 25%

Experience, Training, or
Skills:
Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Substitute Education for
Experience:
A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Education:

Special Requirements (Age, Licensure, Regulation, etc.): Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
