Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required for all positions (may be allowed to sign a GED agreement to obtain within 6 months).

REQUIRED:

Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Associate’s degree in nursing.

PREFERRED:
Bachelor of Science in nursing.

Current RN license in the state of Kentucky or current work permit issued by KBN. (Licensure in compact state acceptable). BLS provider, ACLS provider, and PALS provider or obtains within six months of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Usual working space is a well-ventilated area. Requires standing, walking, turning, bending, stooping, and lifting. Clear speech to communicate effectively with customers (e.g. patients, families, and other team members). Fine and gross motor skills. Environment may be stressful at times, therefore ability to work under stressful conditions is necessary. Lifting up to 50 lbs may be required, anything over 50 lbs should be a team lift or with the use of a lifting aid.

Also subject to blood borne pathogens at all times in patient care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for assessing and diagnosing nursing care needs for patients; for establishing the nursing outcomes (in collaboration with patient/family/significant other); then prescribing, delegating and supervising nursing care; for teaching each patient and evaluating each patient’s response to nursing care and progress toward outcomes and collaborating with physicians / providers and other clinical disciplines providing patient care to modify the plan of care as needed (in collaboration with patient/family/significant other).Assist

manager in departmental budget planning, developing departmental policies and procedures and nursing standards of care.
