American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele-PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
- Care for medical-surgical telemetry and PCU/stepdown patients including cardiac, neuro, renal, and orthopedic cases
- Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
- Uses Meditech EMR
- Night shift schedule alternating between 3x12 and 4x12 shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Rotating 36/48 schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required within scope of practice
- Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
- Active RN license (KY or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of current MS/Tele-PCU experience required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management preferred
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and chest tube management preferred
- Experience with wound care, IV insulin protocols, and post-cardiac cath care preferred
- Driver's license required, with address matching permanent address
- Two professional references required (one Charge or higher, one Supervisor), completed within the last year
- Provide direct patient care for a diverse PCU population including cardiac, neurological, renal, and orthopedic patients
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
- Must be willing to accept the required 84-hour biweekly scheduling pattern
- Up to 7 days of RTO will be considered if presented upfront with no changes accepted
- Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
- Travelers who have completed a one-year assignment must take a minimum 6-month break before returning
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
