Atlantic Group is hiring a School Nurse (Registered Nurse) for our client, a well-established nonprofit organization supporting children with autism and developmental disabilities. This position will provide healthcare services to preschool and school-aged students in a school-based setting, promoting student health, safety, and well-being while collaborating with educators, families, and healthcare providers. The organization is open to both temporary and permanent candidates, as well as full-time and part-time schedules.

Responsibilities as the School Nurse (Registered Nurse):

• Student Health Services: Provide first aid, assess acute illnesses and injuries, administer prescribed medications, and respond to medical emergencies during the school day.
• Health Monitoring: Monitor student health records, immunization compliance, chronic medical conditions, and maintain accurate medical documentation.
• Care Coordination: Collaborate with parents, physicians, teachers, school leadership, and outside healthcare providers to support students' ongoing healthcare needs.

  Support health and wellness initiatives by providing health counseling, assisting with health education programs, and promoting healthy practices within the school community.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with school policies, state regulations, medication administration requirements, and reporting obligations, including communicable diseases and mandated reporting.

  Participate in team meetings, contribute to school health initiatives, support students with chronic health conditions, and assist in developing a safe and healthy learning environment.

Qualifications for the School Nurse (Registered Nurse):

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
• Experience: 2–4 years of nursing experience is required. Prior experience in school nursing, pediatrics, behavioral health, developmental disabilities, or community health is preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience supporting pediatric populations, students with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or special education settings is preferred.

  Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration, immunization compliance, and school health regulations is required.
