** How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:
** The LPN Inpatient provides practical nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, supporting patient care delivery, treatment implementation, and care coordination. Collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care across the inpatient setting.
** The Palliative Care unit is an adult inpatient medical—surgical unit with 10 private patient rooms that have excellent views of the Roanoke Valley. Comprised of Registered Nurses and Nursing Assistants, our nursing team is specially trained at providing care for people living with serious illness. Palliative Care focuses on relief of symptoms and stressors of a serious illness. Our focus is patient centered, and with the Palliative Care team, we provide interprofessional assessment and comprehensive management of patients’ and families’ physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and bereavement needs.
** This position is full time, working the night shift with every other weekend and rotating holidays.
The LPN Inpatient
* Provides practical nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.
* Participates in the nursing process, including data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
* Contributes to the development and implementation of individualized interdisciplinary plans of care.
* Identifies patient, family, and caregiver educational needs and incorporates education into the plan of care.
* Implements prescribed treatments and therapeutic interventions.
* Administers medications in accordance with provider orders and scope of practice.
* Applies knowledge of growth and development to deliver age-appropriate care.
* Advocates for patients and supports their rights, providing psychological, social, and cultural support.
* Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
* Supports performance improvement initiatives and contributes to quality outcomes.
* Participates in orientation and development of new staff.
* Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to service excellence.
* Supports organizational mission, vision, and values and complies with all policies and procedures.#
** What We Require:

* Education:
** Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required.

* Experience:
** None.
** Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:
** Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. De-escalation training required within 4 months of hire for Psychiatry and Behavioral Health roles and must be maintained thereafter.
** Life Support:
** AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
** Other
Minimum Qualifications:
** Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Must be able to meet essential job functions. Additional experience or certifications may be required based on service line.

** Compensation Range:**$23.97 - $35.96
