Novant Health is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to orthopedic patients across the continuum of care, including pre- and post-operative management, pain control, mobility support, and patient education. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes, ensure safety, and deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

- Provide comprehensive orthopedic nursing care to patients undergoing joint replacement, fracture repair, spine surgery, and other musculoskeletal procedures.
- Conduct thorough assessments focusing on pain, mobility, neurovascular status, and skin integrity, and update individualized plans of care accordingly.
- Administer medications, including pain management therapies, and manage IV fluids and other treatments in accordance with provider orders and protocols.
- Monitor vital signs, surgical sites, and overall post-operative status, promptly identifying and escalating changes in condition.
- Perform wound and dressing care, manage drains and orthopedic equipment such as braces, slings, and traction as appropriate.
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other team members to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Educate patients and families about pre- and post-operative expectations, mobility precautions, use of assistive devices, and at-home care needs.
- Implement and reinforce fall prevention, pressure injury prevention, and infection control practices to maintain a safe care environment.
- Document all assessments, interventions, patient responses, and education accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
- Participate in quality improvement, unit-based initiatives, and continuing education to enhance orthopedic nursing practice and patient outcomes.

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

- Orthopaedic Nurse Certified (ONC) preferred
- Previous orthopedic, surgical, or acute care nursing experience strongly preferred
- Competency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
