Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our neonatal care team. As an NNP, you will have the opportunity to work with fragile newborns and their families, providing comprehensive care and support. You will be joining team of 4 Neonatologists and 6+ Neonatal Nurse Practitioners with Covenant Medical Group at Covenant Children's. Covenant Children's is Level IV NICU with new small baby NICU just opening in 2026.

Covenant Children's over 270 beds, is home to the Women's Center at Covenant Children's where over 3000 babies are delivered annually.

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Responsibilities & Duties
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments and evaluations of premature and critically ill newborns
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient
  • Manage neonatal medications, treatments, and procedures
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support
  • Stay current with the latest developments in neonatal care and research

Qualifications & Skills
  • Master's degree in Nursing with specialization in Neonatal Care.
  • Certification as Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP).
  • Prior experience in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
  • Strong skills in communication and family support.
  • Experience with advanced medical technologies used in neonatal care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice
  • Minimum of two years of experience in neonatal care
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
