Saunders Medical Center is seeking a PRN Surgery RN to provide professional nursing care for patients throughout the pre-operative, intra-operative, recovery, and immediate post-operative phases of care.
The Surgery RN works closely with surgical and specialty care teams to provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities- Assess patients
- Develop plans of care
- Provide direct nursing care throughout the surgical experience
- Caring for patients in Pre-op, Surgery, PACU, and Specialty Clinic areas as assigned
- Monitoring and evaluating patients
- Assisting with discharge planning
- Responding to emergency situations
- Providing patient and family education
- Communicating with the healthcare team
- Supervising and supporting assistive and ancillary personnel as needed
- Maintaining professional nursing, safety, infection control, and HIPAA standards
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Nebraska Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide compassionate care
- Ability to organize workload, prioritize patient needs, and make sound independent decisions
- Operating Room and/or PACU experience preferred
