Position: RN Supervisor-Days Excellent Opportunity
Location: Northern

The RN Day Supervisor is responsible for maintaining clinical excellence, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring safe, efficient operations while promoting the highest practicable level of resident care and quality of life. This position performs all duties in accordance with facility policies, the New York State Nurse Practice Act, and applicable federal and state regulations governing skilled nursing facilities. The role commonly includes oversight of staffing, clinical documentation, resident assessments, regulatory compliance, and shift operations.

Reports To:

Director of Nursing (DON) and/or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate nursing operations during the assigned shift.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and clinical support to Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
  • Make regular rounds to monitor resident care, staff performance, and unit operations.
  • Assess residents with changes in condition and ensure timely interventions, physician notification, and family communication.
  • Respond to emergencies, incidents, accidents, and resident or family concerns.
  • Ensure physician orders are accurately implemented and documented.
  • Monitor medication administration, treatments, infection prevention practices, and documentation for compliance and quality.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and coordination of resident care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote positive resident outcomes.
  • Monitor staffing levels, make assignments, and adjust staffing to meet resident care needs.
  • Provide clinical oversight and support during surveys, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, New York State Department of Health, OSHA, HIPAA, and facility policies.
  • Investigate incidents and employee concerns, complete required reports, and communicate significant issues to nursing leadership.
  • Participate in employee coaching, performance improvement, orientation, and education.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and resident-centered care.
  • Serve as the nursing administrative representative in the absence of nursing leadership, as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York in good standing.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience; long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of long-term care regulations, survey process, infection prevention, and quality assurance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
