Job Description Summary

The Nurse Administrator I position is responsible for maintaining efficient and effective operations of nursing units/hospitals by providing direction for patient care services, patient throughput, and support for all hospital departments.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • 50% Contributes to administrative functioning of nursing services by reviewing staffing, reassigning and allocating staff as appropriate to meet changing patient care needs.
  • 15% Serves as a clinical resource and role model to nursing staff. Ensures safe and equitable working environments. Uses information systems to retrieve, implement, and retain essential records and services.
  • 15% Interacts with internal and external customers and serves as a resource for information and problem solving (i.e. media, patient relations, risk management, security, hospital administration, patients, and families).
  • 10% Serves as a liaison between nursing services and other hospital departments for problem solving and problem resolution (i.e. Pharmacy, Lab, etc.).
  • 10% Coordinates and/or assists with activities during internal and external emergency situations.
