Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist; H; Per Diem - UTower

The University of Miami UHealth Department of Anesthesia UTower has an exciting opportunity for a per diem Certified Nurse Anesthetist in Miami.

• Preforms pre and post anesthesia patient visits and documents anesthesia notes on patient records.
• Reviews medical history, evaluating patients and determining proper methods of anesthesia.
• Performs or evaluates diagnostic tests, such as radiographs (x-rays) and electrocardiograms (EKG’s).
• Measures and monitors the level and speed at which anesthesia is administered.
• Monitors patient vital signs to ensure safety, to include skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation or urine output.
• Informs physician of patient’s condition during anesthesia.
• Manages patients’ airway or pulmonary status using techniques, such as endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy, and extubation.
• Oversees patient recovery from anesthesia and cares for patient’s immediate post-operative needs.
• Prepares prescribed solutions and administers local, intravenous, spinal or other anesthetics following specified methods and procedures.
• Responds to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering fluids or drugs, and using basic or advanced life support techniques.
• Develops anesthesia care plans.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

• Education:
  
  Master's degree in relevant field required.
• Certification and Licensing:
  Valid State of Florida APRN license required.
• Certification as a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) BLS, ACL, PALS from American Heart Association.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required.
