The 1:1 School Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing health services to Midview Schools/Leaf Bridge Alternative Education. Working in collaboration with educators, administrators, and families, the school nurse serves as the primary healthcare resource within the school community — promoting wellness, managing chronic conditions, responding to acute needs, and ensuring students are healthy and ready to learn.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist in assessment and triage of student health concerns under RN/physician supervision
- Administer medications and treatments per established protocols and physician orders
- Assist in implementing individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans (EAPs)
- Support management of students with chronic health conditions including asthma, diabetes, and allergies
- Conduct health screenings as directed (vision, hearing, BMI)
- Maintain accurate, confidential student health records in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA
- Communicate student health updates to parents, school staff, and supervising RN
- Provide basic health education to students and families
- Respond to building-level health needs and assist in emergency situations
- Collaborate with the supervising RN and school team to promote student wellness
- Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Ohio
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- School nursing or pediatric/community health experience preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a school environment under RN supervision
- CPR/AED certification required (or willingness to obtain)
Current Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required. Work is performed under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) per Ohio nursing scope of practice.
Salary: $21-$24/hour
