What You’ll DoThe Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing mental health treatment while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Your responsibilities may include:
Psychiatric CarePerform psychiatric evaluations, health histories, and mental health assessments.
Develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide medication management and prescribe medications within established guidelines.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and medications.
Provide counseling and support when appropriate.
Clinical Documentation & ComplianceComplete timely documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Maintain accurate progress notes in accordance with Medicaid, Medicare, and agency requirements.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, and quality standards.
Utilize appropriate coding and billing practices.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and community partners.
Coordinate patient care across internal and external providers.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary meetings.
Assist with prior authorizations, prescription refills, and continuity of care.

QualificationsRequired
Current Registered Nurse (RN) License.
Nurse Practitioner certification (FNP or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner credentials as required).
Current DEA registration.
Current CPR certification.
ACLS and PALS certifications.
Minimum one year of experience in a community clinic or similar healthcare setting.
Experience providing psychiatric care.
Strong psychiatric assessment and diagnostic skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Ability to manage a diverse patient population.
Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
