Location: Northern

Hartford Healthcare seeks an Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive cancer care within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In collaboration with oncologists and a multidisciplinary team, you will conduct assessments, manage chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens, oversee symptom management, coordinate care, and educate patients and families. You'll leverage cutting-edge technology while practicing evidence-based medicine. Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive oncology assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with oncologists.
  • Prescribe and manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care medications per protocols.
  • Monitor treatment response, manage toxicities, and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Provide symptom management and palliative support for oncology patients.
  • Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies relevant to cancer care.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, side effects, and self-care.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care with nursing, pharmacy, social work, and other specialties.
  • Participate in tumor boards, quality initiatives, and evidence-based practice projects.
  • Document all patient encounters and care plans in the electronic medical record accurately and timely.
  • Support clinical research activities and adherence to clinical trial protocols when applicable.

Qualifications
  • Current RN license and APRN certification or PA-C licensure (as applicable).
  • National board certification as an Oncology NP (AOCNP preferred) or relevant PA certification.
  • Active, unrestricted license in the state of practice.
  • Chemotherapy/biotherapy provider certification (e.g., ONS/ONCC) preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Experience with oncology clinical guidelines (NCCN, ASCO).
