Main Purpose of JobThe main purpose of this position is supervisory-level work in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the Infectious Disease program for individuals in various community and local health Department settings. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with disease surveillance and investigation, initiating response activities, and promoting collaborative effort within the community and state agencies to work to prevent/contain and treat infectious diseases.
This position will also supervise Community Health Nurses and other health care staff.
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Two years of experience as a Community Health Nurse plus one year of additional experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a Registered Nurse.
Notes:
Prior professional experience in public health epidemiology, outbreak investigation, or clinical infectious disease management is highly desirable.
