The twenty-four-bed Neuroscience unit offers specialized nursing assessment and care to patients with both neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses. Typical patients include those with a diagnosis of stroke, post-op craniotomy, post-op discectomy and other back surgeries, as well as post-cerebral embolization. Unit nursing care is complemented by the expertise of two Neuroscience Coordinators. Integrated into 24 beds, is a 4 bed EMU that is dedicated to patients who meet criteria and referred by Epileptologist for planned admission for evaluation and localization of potential epileptic events through VTrM.
The Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) provides continuous video EEG monitoring for patients with seizure disorders. These patients require intensive, specialized nursing care, including:
- Continuous neurological assessment
- Rapid response to seizure activity
- Medication titration and withdrawal protocols
- Patient safety monitoring (fall risk, injury prevention during seizures)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse Neuro Spine to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients, in alignment with Kentucky Nursing Laws and our organizational policies. You will play a critical role in promoting positive patient outcomes, enhancing the quality of care, and contributing to a collaborative professional environment.
Active participation in unit-based and hospital shared governance councils is expected to drive change and foster a supportive practice environment.
- Active Kentucky RN License required.
- Associate's degree in nursing required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
