First Choice Immediate Care
- McCreary is a fast-paced, patient-focused urgent care clinic committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to individuals and families in our community. We treat a wide range of non-emergency conditions with efficiency and excellence, and we’re looking for a dedicated APRN to join our clinical team on a PRN status.

The APRN will provide direct patient care for a variety of acute illnesses and injuries. This role is ideal for a skilled and confident practitioner who can work independently and in collaboration with a supportive clinical team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to patients of all ages.

Job Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Obtain comprehensive medical histories and conduct physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat common illnesses and injuries.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., lab work, imaging studies).
  • Prescribe medications and other treatments as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Counsel patients on preventive health measures, such as vaccinations and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Make referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other support staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Stay current with the latest medical advancements and best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Experience:
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Required

Skills and Abilities:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of family medicine principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients across lifespan.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in performing physical examinations and ordering appropriate diagnostic tests.
  • Ability to manage chronic conditions and provide preventive care.
  • Knowledge of current healthcare regulations and guidelines.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
Required

Education:
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licenses in the state of Kentucky (or eligibility for licensure)
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Schedule Requirements:

PRN position, 100% clinic-based, in-person work required.
