About the Role:
Wellspire Medical Group is seeking a skilled, motivated, and patient-centered Urology
Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing urology service
line. This role is ideal for a mid-level provider who is clinically confident, values
teamwork, and thrives in a structured, high-quality specialty practice.
The Urology NP/PA will manage a broad range of urologic conditions, support procedural
and clinic workflows, and work closely with urologists to deliver comprehensive,
efficient, and evidence-based care. Our model emphasizes provider support, operational
efficiency, and sustainable workloads, allowing clinicians to focus on excellent patient
outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with common and complex urologic conditions, including but not limited to:
- Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
- Elevated PSA and prostate cancer surveillance
- Urinary tract infections
- Hematuria
- Kidney stones
- Overactive bladder and urinary incontinence
- Erectile dysfunction and men's health concerns
Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans under urology protocols.
Provide post-operative and post-procedure follow-up care.
2. Procedural & Clinical SupportAssist with and/or independently perform in-office urology procedures as permitted by scope and training, such as:
- Catheter insertions and removals
- Voiding trials
- Urodynamic testing (if applicable)
Prepare patients for procedures and provide post-procedure education.
Support clinic flow by managing procedure schedules and follow-ups.
Work closely with urologists, medical assistants, nurses, and front office teams.
Coordinate diagnostic testing, imaging, labs, and referrals.
Communicate clearly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Participate in team huddles, case discussions, and quality initiatives.
4. Documentation, Coding & ComplianceMaintain timely, accurate, and thorough documentation in the EHR (eCW experience
preferred).
Ensure documentation supports appropriate coding and billing.
Comply with all regulatory, payer, and organizational policies.
Adhere to evidence-based urology guidelines and clinical protocols.
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with a focus on safety and outcomes.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and workflow optimization.
Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans.
Support a positive patient experience through clear communication and professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS Required- Current, unrestricted Texas NP or PA license
- Nurse Practitioner (AANP/ANCC) or NCCPA certification
- Active DEA license or eligibility to obtain
- Minimum 2+ years of clinical experience in Urology or a related specialty (strongly preferred)
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Prior urology experience or demonstrated interest in urology
- Experience in a high-volume or multi-provider specialty clinic
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial payers
- Experience with eClinical
