What We Offer
As a Diabetes Education Specialist at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, you'll be trusted to support diabetic patients and their families. You will help drive safe, compassionate care where it matters most. Our acute care diabetes education team provides patient education on diabetes, often to newly diagnosed patients.
Presbyterian Medical Center is our 661 bed level 2 trauma center centrally located just outside of uptown Charlotte. You'll support diabetic patients on all units as well as providing virtual support for patients at our community hospitals.

What You'll Do- Patient consults for patients and their families, providing education on diabetes, often to newly diagnosed patients
- Surveillance of blood sugars
- Participate in best practice committees and facility work groups
- Support team member education as a diabetes subject matter expert
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing, required. Graduate Degree, preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of three years of clinical experience in nursing, required. Acute care experience preferred. Experience working with diabetic patients is strongly preferred. Patient education experience a plus. - Licensure/Certification:
- Registered Nurse in appropriate State, required.
- Care and Compressions, required.

Skills Required:
Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Knowledge, ability and skills to support diabetes education to accommodate cultural diversity, age specific or behavioral needs among the patients being served. Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.
