** Senior Charge RN
** and oversee the daily operations of an acute care nursing unit (Cardiac and Neuro) while working
** three 12-hour night shifts (6 PM - 6:30 AM)
** plus

With 391 licensed beds, the hospital provides a wide range of services, including acute medical and surgical services as well as intensive care, emergency and urgent care, inpatient/outpatient surgery, cardiac catheterization, neurology, orthopedics, oncology, urology, pulmonary, obstetrics and gynecology, outpatient diagnostic services, and adult behavioral services.

POSITION SUMMARY This position provides managerial, clinical, and administrative oversight to patients and staff. Uses depth and breadth of clinical management knowledge to ensure the provision of high quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care. Demonstrates clinical expertise and oversees the leadership of clinical, financial, and personnel management of assigned areas. Provides administrative supervision of unit workflow, resource utilization and management, and operations for all clinical and non-clinical inner-department collaboration during assigned shift.  

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Manages and facilitates patient centered nursing care for designated patient populations by serving as a real-time clinical expert for unit staff and physicians for escalated problem-solving on patients, processes, and family issues. Manages the operations of the unit to ensure smooth and efficient patient care management and resource utilization. Demonstrates and supports HRO principals to improve quality and experience.  
2. Assesses overall staffing effectiveness and adequate throughput by ensuring the appropriate number, competency and skill mix of staff are involved in the provision of needed health care services according to census, acuity, and responsible use of labor budget.  
3. Responds to and assesses all codes and other crisis situations, implements plan, and evaluates response. Understands and utilizes the appropriate chain of command as needs arise.
