JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for general nursing activities in the Endovascular Operating Room. Administration of Conscious (Moderate) Sedation under the direct supervision of the operating physician following AORN guidelines. In its entirety, the perioperative nurse is the registered nurse who, using the nursing process, designs, coordinates, and delivers care to meet the identified needs of patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised because they are having operative or other invasive procedures.
Establishes, ensures, and supervises surgical team members and procedures to maintain quality services and efficient operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
Bachelors' Degree of Nursing preferred
All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date
License &
Certifications:
Current NJ (New Jersey) Registered Nurse License required
BLS and ACLS required upon start
PALS preferred or must be obtained within 3 months of start date
Experience
One (1) year of related experience preferred in related field (Cath Lab, IR)
Moderate Sedation experience required
