The main purpose of this position is to provide supervisory-level work in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the reproductive health program. This position will lead programmatic budget planning, preparation, implementation and monitoring activities, including required reports, data collection, review and analysis, and site reviews in accordance with time frames established in the State Conditions of Award and local health department guidance. This position will also provide direct services to clients in the reproductive health clinic, including education, counseling, obtaining health histories, nursing assessments, explaining and witnessing consent, administering medications and treatments, and addressing other clinical situations that may arise in accordance with agency standard operating procedures, policies and procedures.

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Two years of experience as a Community Health Nurse plus one year of additional experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a Registered Nurse.

• Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education.
• Candidates may substitute two years of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education.
• Candidates may substitute three years of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a Registered Nurse for the required experience.
• Candidates may substitute a Master’s degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university for the two years of Community Health Nurse required experience.
• Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
• Experience working in a supervisory role.
• Experience with the Maryland Family Planning Program.
• Experience with reproductive health services.
• Experience working as a Community Health Nurse.

• Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.
• Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
