Sparta Elementary is seeking a compassionate and detailed Registered Nurse to lead the health office at Sparta Elementary. You will serve as the primary healthcare professional on campus, supporting the physical, mental, and emotional health of kindergarten through 4th-grade students while fostering a safe learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily clinical triage, first aid, and emergency care for student illnesses and injuries.
- Administer prescribed daily and PRN medications; execute specialized nursing care (e.g., glucose monitoring, insulin delivery, nebulizer treatments, or gastrostomy feedings).
- Formulate and manage Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for students with chronic health conditions (e.g., severe allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures).
- Conduct state-mandated vision, hearing, and physical screenings, coordinating referral follow-ups with parents.
- Maintain accurate electronic student health records, ensuring full compliance with state immunization mandates, FERPA, and HIPAA.
- Educate students, staff, and families on infection control, hygiene, and wellness practices.
