We are seeking an experienced PACU RN for a 3×12-hour day-shift travel assignment in a high-acuity surgical and trauma environment.

• Shifts: 8:00 AM–8:30 PM or 9:00 AM–9:30 PM
• Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts/week
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• First-time travelers: Not accepted
• Local candidates: Not accepted within 100 miles
• Weekend: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block
• Call: Rotating call assignment with staff
• Holiday: Must work 1 holiday per 13-week contract
• Floating: Required within the RN's skill set
• Orientation: 36 hours

• Previous PACU experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Level II trauma experience required
• Active Virginia or Compact RN license at submission
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
• Strong experience caring for a 1:2 patient ratio

Experience with:

• Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery
• Pre- and post-operative assessments
• Ventilated patients, airway management, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Chest tubes and End-Tidal CO₂ monitoring
• Arterial and central/PICC lines
• Blood products and IV therapy
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, antiarrhythmics, and vasopressors
• Neuro patients, including craniotomy, EVD, spine surgery, and stroke
• Pain management, PCA, opioids, and reversal agents
• Malignant hyperthermia protocols
• Pediatric and infant patients
• General, orthopedic, neuro, ENT, bariatric, colorectal, gynecologic, ophthalmologic, urologic, and other surgical procedures

• All RTO must be submitted with the application
• Traveler must provide confirmation of commitment to the submitted start date
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required; medical/religious exemptions permitted
• Travelers may be required to work at affiliated locations based on staffing needs
