Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Long Term Care Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) for limited hours to join our compassionate team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care within our long-term care facility, ensuring the comfort and safety of residents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geriatrics and long-term care settings, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents at all times.
- Assign, delegate, and direct nursing care based on staff qualifications, facility layout, and residents' physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Complete compliance rounds to monitor nursing staff performance and ensure shift duties are completed.
- Supervise and provide direction to nursing assistants and medication aides.
- Provide direct care to residents as needed.
- Accurately administer medications and report any medication errors promptly.
- Assess and respond to the physical and emotional needs of all residents.
- Review, revise, and implement resident care plans as necessary.
- Notify the Director of Nursing, physician, and resident family of any changes in condition.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation of nursing care, including:
- Behavior sheets
- Fall reports
- Skin assessments
- Updates to the 24-hour report sheet
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between shifts.
- Implement physician's orders promptly and thoroughly.
- Address staff education, discipline, and counseling needs when appropriate.
- Communicate staffing issues to the Director of Nursing.
- Participate in the orientation of new staff to their duties and facility procedures.
- Report interdepartmental concerns to the Director of Nursing.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
- Valid LPN or RN license with Nebraska.
- Experience in geriatric nursing and supervisory experience is desirable.
