Position SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Nurse Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Nurse Assistant will support nurses and other clinical staff in providing safe, respectful, and high-quality care to patients. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, communicates effectively, and is committed to maintaining patient comfort and dignity.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
- Help patients transfer, reposition, and ambulate safely.
- Obtain and document vital signs, weight, intake and output, and other information as directed.
- Assist with meals and feeding according to each patient's care plan.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and call lights.
- Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable patient rooms.
- Observe patients and promptly report changes in condition or behavior to the appropriate nurse.
- Assist nursing staff with patient care procedures within the Nurse Assistant's permitted scope of practice.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, confidentiality, and facility policies.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Perform other patient-care duties as assigned.
Required:
- High school diploma or GED, if required by the organization.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
- Ability to perform the physical responsibilities associated with providing direct patient care.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, assisted living community, or similar healthcare environment.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience providing direct care to older adults or individuals with complex healthcare needs.
