Location: Northern
Are you a skilled nursing professional with a passion for leadership and providing exceptional care to adult and geriatric residents?
- Under the guidance of the Administrator, assume authority, responsibility, and accountability for nursing services staff and supervision of the Therapy Department.
- Act as the facility's representative and assume responsibility in the absence of the Administrator.
- Manage resident care 24/7, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate expertise in age-specific developmental factors relevant to adult and geriatric residents, incorporating them into care plans.
- Possess the necessary skills and techniques to care for residents with specialized needs, such as therapeutic, neuro and dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious disease, and wound care.
- Attend mandatory in-services annually to enhance knowledge and maintain compliance.
- Actively participate as a valued member of the interdisciplinary team under the guidance of the Administrator.
- Exhibit flexibility in adjusting to changes in shift assignments to meet the needs of residents and their families.
- Ensure residents receive skilled nursing and rehabilitation services as required.
- Successfully complete specialized dementia unit orientation as applicable.
- Adhere to the Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct during all work functions.
- Develop and update statements of philosophy and objectives that reflect the desired standard of nursing care in the facility.
- Supervise, evaluate, counsel, and discipline inter-departmental personnel.
- Participate in recruitment, interviewing, selection, and termination of nursing personnel.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels for each unit/shift to meet residents' needs.
- Actively participate in coordination of resident services through departmental and staff committee meetings.
- Organize staff development programs to enhance knowledge of quality resident care.
- Review and ensure that all documentation accurately reflects nursing care and resident responses to care.
- Contribute to planning and budgeting for nursing services.
- Review nursing requirements of each admitted resident and involve physicians in resident care planning.
- Stay updated on Health Department Directives and ensure their implementation by staff.
- Conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with State Code Requirements.
Education/
Experience:
- Possess a current, valid Nursing License as a registered professional nurse in good standing in the state where the facility resides.
- Have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in nursing service administration, with preference for additional education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of state, federal, and local regulations pertaining to long-term care.
