Maine Veterinary Medical Center is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Oncology Technician Assistant to our team. At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. The schedule we are looking to fill is Monday through Friday 10am- 6pm

Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS level two certified Rarebreed practice that has full in-house laboratory capabilities, a fluoroscopy suite for interventional procedures, a GE 64-slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, in-house telemetric monitoring, ultrasound and endoscopy. MVMC is a multi-specialty hospital offering services in Emergency & Critical Care, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine.

Our collaborative team of experienced emergency clinicians and criticalists enables us to provide advanced, high-quality care to a knowledgeable and dedicated client base.

Technician Assistant - Oncology

Maine Veterinary Medical Center in Scarborough, ME

$18.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Support technicians and veterinarians with oncology patient care, including safe handling and restraint of patients undergoing diagnostics and treatments
  • Assist with chemotherapy appointments by preparing rooms, gathering supplies, and ensuring proper safety and cleanliness protocols are followed
  • Monitor patient comfort by changing bedding, walking patients, and maintaining a clean, low-stress environment
  • Clean and disinfect treatment areas following oncology-specific safety protocols
  • Assist with stocking and organizing supplies for oncology services
  • Support client experience by helping with patient flow, discharge readiness, and general client communication as directed
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all treatments, forms, and patient identifiers are up to date
  • Observe patients closely and alert technicians to any changes in condition or behavior

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year previous experience in a veterinary or animal handling role required
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Able to multi-task
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
