Route 66 Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Center is looking for an Emergency Clinician that can help create positive change in people's lives through compassionate care for their pets. While working as part of our dynamic team you will provide quality veterinary care to our patients.

Our amazing team of caregivers are a positive group of people who create an atmosphere of calm even while dealing with the stress of emergency veterinary medicine. The Route 66 Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Center is in the trendy Nob Hill neighborhood close to both the University of New Mexico and Sandia National Laboratory. • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
• Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment.
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Completion of a rotating internship or experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred (or equivalent clinical experience).
• Confidence managing emergency cases and making sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
• A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing emergency veterinary medicine.
