Registered Veterinary Technician - The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta

The hourly pay band for this position is $26.00 - $30.00; this varies depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
We are looking to add a Part-Time Registered Veterinary Technician to our team.
The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, venipuncture, restraint, knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and supportive team member.

The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta is a 3-doctor hospital open from 8 am - 6 pm Monday through Friday, and 8:30 am - 5:30 pm on Saturday, closed on Sundays.

Requirements- Registered Veterinary Technician, the license must be current
- 3+ years of veterinary experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
- Assisting doctor and other technical staff with restraint
- Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
- Placing IV catheters
- Digital radiology including positioning
- Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
- Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
- TPR Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5;
Vetscan;
Sedivue - Excellent client communication/education
- Saturdays required
