Brightpoint Community College invites applications for the position of Grounds Team Member
. This position performs work related to college grounds and landscaping to help provide and maintain a safe, comfortable, and visually appealing campus environment that supports teaching and learning.

Primary responsibilities include grounds maintenance and landscaping; operation and maintenance of equipment; upkeep of natural areas, parking lots, sidewalks, and exterior signage; and assistance with classroom and office setups as well as mail deliveries.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel.

• Knowledge of grounds maintenance principles, materials, equipment operation and repair, landscaping, horticulture, turf management, and workplace health and safety practices
• Proficiency in operating a personal computer
• Knowledge of OSHA workplace safety standards
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to problem solve
• Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods of time
• Ability to report to work as "essential" personnel within one hour of being called into work after hours and on holidays
• Successful completion and passing of a background check.
