We are seeking a reliable and motivated kennel technician to join our team. This position is ideal for high school students, arriving to work no later than 3:45pm. Shift end varies based on season.

A veterinary kennel technician provides daily care for boarding and hospitalized animals, and maintains strict facility sanitation, serving an essential support role in our veterinary clinic.

Key Responsibilities

• Animal Husbandry :
  Feed, water, walk, and exercise dogs and cats.
• Facility Sanitation :
  Clean, disinfect, and sterilize cages, runs, treatment areas, and common spaces to stop disease spread. Handle facility laundry and waste disposal.
• Health Monitoring :
  Observe pets for changes in behavior, appetite, or stool, and report any distress or medical signs to veterinary staff immediately.
• Medication & Treatment :
  Administer basic oral or topical medications under veterinary direction.
• Clinical Support :
  Help veterinary technicians and veterinarians with safe animal handling and patient restraint.
  Qualifications and Skills
• Compassion & Patience : A strong love for animals and gentle behavior with anxious or sick pet
• Physical Stamina :
  Ability to stand for long shifts, bend, and safely lift heavy objects or large animals up to 50 pounds.
• Reliability :
  Punctual, self-motivated work habits with required availability on weekends and holidays.
• Communication :
  Clear reporting skills to alert the medical team to health changes
