Job Description

Antioch Dog & Cat Hospital is an established, full-service hospital in the Kansas City Northland with a loyal client base and a team that genuinely cares about our patients and each other. We were also recognized as a 2026 KC Best Silver Award winner for Veterinarian.

This position is especially well suited for an experienced, confident RVT who enjoys surgery and wants to take ownership of our surgical workflow.

Our ideal candidate is someone who can:

• Lead surgical days and help keep the surgical team organized, efficient, and focused on patient safety.
• Confidently handle anesthesia induction, intubation, anesthetic monitoring, recovery, pain management, and surgical patient care within the RVT scope of practice.
• Recognize changes in anesthetic parameters and communicate concerns quickly and appropriately to the veterinarian.
• Help maintain strong surgical and anesthesia protocols, equipment readiness, controlled-drug processes, surgical flow, and patient safety standards.
• Serve as a resource and mentor for veterinary assistants and less-experienced technical teammates.
• Jump into appointments, diagnostics, treatments, dentistry, hospitalized patient care, and other technical areas when needed.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with DVMs, teammates, and clients.
• Take initiative without needing to be micromanaged.
• Bring a team-first attitude and be willing to give and receive constructive feedback.
