We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Nursery Propagation Specialist to join our propagation team at a 100-acre plant nursery in Willard, NC.

This position is hands-on and primarily indoors but also requires some outdoor work. The successful candidate will assist the propagation crew with the production and care of plants while helping with a variety of general nursery and property-management tasks.

The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality work, and is comfortable performing physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced nursery environment.

The propagation department is scheduled to work from 7:30am-4:00pm with a 30 minute lunch and occassional Saturday work.

** Summer hours are 6:30am-3:00pm with a 30 minute lunch**

We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, motivated, and eager to learn. Experience with plant propagation or nursery production is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.

• Assist the propagation crew with daily plant propagation activities.
• Use hand shears to trim and cut plant material; this task will comprise the majority of the workday.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Fill flats and containers with soil and growing media.
• Move and organize flats, trays, and plants throughout the nursery.
• Weed, fertilize, water, and maintain plants as needed.
• Assist with plant production and general nursery operations.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Help with general property maintenance and upkeep.
• Follow proper plant-care, propagation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as needed to support nursery production and operations.
• Learn to safely operate tractors and other nursery equipment through employer-provided training, as needed to support nursery production and property maintenance tasks.

• Previous nursery, horticulture, landscaping, agriculture, or plant-production experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in heat, cold, humidity, and other weather conditions.
• Must be able to perform repetitive hand movements while using hand shears for extended periods.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive work throughout the day.
• Ability to lift and move flats, trays, soil, and plants.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality plants.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential.
