Position

Summary

Based in Dallas, Texas to support Caris Detect
- The Manager-Environmental, Health, & Safety provides expert EHS guidance for all personnel, departments, and sites to meet environmental, health, and safety regulatory requirements and best practices. Develops and maintains all safety policies and procedures, audits for compliance, responds to emergencies, and investigates all safety issues and work‑related injuries and illnesses, along with company leadership, to strive to eliminate injury and loss.

Manages the corporate safety training programs and facilitates all safety training as necessary

Job Responsibilities
  • Manages organization's safety programs to protect employees and the company against harm and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Monitors and conducts training of employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Develops programs as necessary.
  • Verifies compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
  • Manages the participation in client, board certification, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), EPA, and other audits and inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures.
  • Effectively develops and implements programs, policies, standards, and procedures to reduce the frequency and severity work related injuries and illness and loss in the areas of workers’ compensation, general liability, and property.
  • Perform incident, injury and illness investigations, evaluations, tracking and maintains regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Supervises, coaches, and develops EHS support staff and chairs safety committee meetings.
  • Performs regular physical inspections of company grounds, buildings, equipment, and operations.
  • Provides input on Disaster and Contingency Planning relative to employee safety and health, coordinates response during an event.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Perform a variety of complex tasks.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Performs other job duties as required by EHS management to directly assist with the operation and success of the company
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Health Science, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry or equivalent Science/Engineering field.
  • At least 5-10 years EHS compliance expertise including hazard communications, hazardous waste, Bloodborne pathogens, and chemical hygiene.
  • Knowledge of federal, state (Texas), and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and prevention techniques.
  • Experience in Manufacturing and/or highly regulated Life Science Industry.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    - Maintain written, oral and computer communication skills to convey information to employees, managers and contractors.
  • Interpersonal/human relations skills
    - Willingness to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization to achieve the desired results.
