Position SummaryThe Laboratory Technician I is responsible for performing basic laboratory analysis of wastewater, used motor oil, waste antifreeze, and refined oil and engine coolant products under direct supervision. The Laboratory Technician assists the Laboratory department in conducting laboratory tests and experiments to ensure accuracy and precision of samples.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Completes the incoming sample profiling for the facility in a timely manner.
- Conducts wet chemistry analysis for effluent discharge water.
- Conducts analysis of incoming waste antifreeze samples.
- Analyzes the finished oil products using various techniques.
- Prepares and maintains laboratory materials, reagents, and supplies inventory.
- Collaborates with other laboratory staff and researchers to ensure efficient and effective use of laboratory resources.
- Writes reports on findings and contribute to scientific publications and presentations.
- Stays up-to-date with developments in laboratory techniques, procedures, and technology to improve laboratory efficiency and effectiveness.
- Performs weekend and holiday shifts under direct supervision of main analyst in charge.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- 1 years of training and/or experience in a laboratory setting.

- Knowledge of principles and facts related to the production, processing, storage, and distribution of manufactured and agricultural goods.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Skill in talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Skill in obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.
- The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
- The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Previous work experience as a Laboratory Technician preferred.
Posted pay ranges are provided in accordance with California pay transparency requirements and reflect the Company’s current anticipated compensation for the position at the time of posting. Compensation rangesare periodically reviewed and may be revised based on business needs, market conditions, internal equity, budgetary considerations, and other legitimate business factors.
