What you will do in this role
Supports manufacturing operations by conducting laboratory analyses, as needed, which provide critical data. Prepares samples, performs preventive maintenance of laboratory instrumentation, and uses data systems to acquire data. Reports results to the client. Requires established basic laboratory skills to perform a range of routine lab activities using existing standard operating procedures and/or analytical/scientific methods.
Responsibilities- Trains to perform routine analyses under direction of senior team members until proficiency is demonstrated.
- Performs basic preventative maintenance of analytical systems.
- Provides evaluation of validity of data for routine analyses and takes appropriate action.
- Monitors analytical systems and escalates problems as appropriate.
- Documents, communicates, and archives analytical results and data.
- Follows EH&S and operating discipline management system (ODMS) procedures and practices for work tasks.
- Suggests improvements to lab work processes and tools.
- Escalates non‑routine requests to appropriate team members for follow‑up.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Willing and able to work the schedule as outlined: a 2‑2‑3 swing shift rotation schedule. The shifts are 12 hours (5:00to5:00) and rotate day/night shift every two weeks. Holidays are included.
- Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
- Must be able to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship is available for this position.
- Post upper secondary education coursework in chemistry or related coursework.
- Six or more months of laboratory, manufacturing, or other related experience.
- Routine analytical testing – ability to perform routine lab analyses using established SOPs to deliver accurate and timely data.
- Instrument preventive maintenance – skill in conducting basic upkeep and calibration of laboratory instruments.
- Data validation and documentation – proficiency in evaluating data validity, documenting results, and maintaining accurate records.
- System monitoring and troubleshooting – capability to monitor analytical systems, identify issues, and elevate problems appropriately.
