Our client in Fairdale, KY is actively looking for a Quality Specialist to join their team.

Position

Description:
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and work instructions.
  • Conduct routine audits of production areas, equipment, and documentation.
  • Investigate customer complaints, nonconforming materials, and quality incidents.
  • Assist in root cause analysis using problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Pareto Analysis.
  • Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities and verify effectiveness.
  • Review production records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality data and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Maintain inspection records and quality documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Assist with employee training on quality standards and procedures.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, ISO standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Knowledge of inspection methods and measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and basic statistical analysis.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP or quality management software is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), applicable regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Properly use and wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report any contravention of the OHSA, applicable regulations, or company policies and procedures to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Report any observed workplace hazards to the supervisor.
  • Immediately report any risks or potential risks of workplace violence or harassment to the supervisor.
  • Do not remove or make ineffective any protective device without providing an adequate temporary substitute. When the work is completed, the original protective device must be replaced immediately.
  • Do not use or operate any equipment, machine, device, or other thing, or otherwise work in a manner that may endanger anyone.
  • Know, understand, and implement safe work practices and procedures.
  • Attend all required Health and Safety training programs, such as WHMIS and workplace orientation, and apply the knowledge gained to daily work activities.
Education:
  • Associate degree or diploma in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience may be considered
