Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)

Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that all supplied components and materials meet quality standards and specifications required for production. This role serves as the primary liaison between the plant and suppliers, focusing on quality assurance and problem resolution. The SQE works closely with internal teams such as Manufacturing, Engineering, and Corporate Supplier Quality to maintain supplier performance and drive corrective actions when necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support determining the data driven top customer field issues list, verify an owner is assigned and status is reported weekly.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions through problem solving process.
  • Evaluate completed corrective actions and ensure effectiveness of actions.
  • Recommend appropriate remedial activities.
  • Present reports to organization regarding Supplier Quality performance.
  • Communicate internally and externally on outcomes of investigations.
  • Work with Engineering, Services, Manufacturing/Operations, Management, and Corporate Supplier Quality to resolve quality issues impacting customers.
  • Own supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and drive timely resolution of supplier quality issues.
  • Escalate chronic supplier performance concerns to management and support supplier recovery plans.
  • Monitor supplier containment activities to minimize production and customer impacts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience within a Quality role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suites.
  • Supplier auditing and PPAP experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)
  • Quality Auditor certification (preferred)
  • Experience supporting quality programs, supplier development initiatives, or supplier corrective action processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing quality-related projects within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proficiency in quality data analysis tools such as advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar statistical analysis platforms.
Project Quality Engineer

The Project Quality Engineer will assure that major ETO (Engineer to Order) projects, will be implemented properly from order to hand over to the customer. In particular he/she will be in close contact with the local Service organization and the central functions (R&D, Marketing, Service and Quality) to coordinate communication between the 2 parties and assuring the customer requirements are understood and timely applied.

He/she will coordinate the activities that people of central functions have to do at site to support the local organization (if requested or needed). Will supervise on site, if necessary. He/she will follow up problems found from design phase to commissioning, involving the relevant department.

Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time Investment Needed on Each

(This will describe the overall core responsibilities of the role, decision making responsibilities etc.)

  • Support the central functions to have smooth process from ETO design phase to assembly and test activity done in the factory; related activities to follow are kick off meeting, PDCA document preparation, closure meeting, assembly process, final test, witness test, etc.
  • Collect information and documentation (technical and commercial, i.e. technical drawings, order documentation, unit setting, etc.) of the projects from central functions (R&D, Marketing, Service, Operations and Quality) and make them available to local organization to support the site activity.
  • Collect information on regular basis about site situation (site activity plan, utilities availability, etc.) and share them with central functions (R&D and Service) to support and facilitate activities to be done at site by the central functions (if any).
  • Monitor site activity and facilitate communication between central and local teams in case of need.
  • Report any issues found at site by local team or during his/her visits at site, to the departments that have to manage and fix the issue (Service, Production, R&D, Quality, etc.).
  • Visit the sites involved in the major projects before, during and/or after the units commissioning (based on specific needs), to support local organization and collect useful information for products improvement.
  • Follow up any activity done by central functions to assure they have been done and completed as expected.
  • Monitor the product behavior after hand over to the customer, and report to factory (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.) major issues on those products
Qualifications

Required/ Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical school background:
    • University degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
    • Good knowledge of HVAC-R products and principles.
    • 3-5 or more years of experience in technical position (like Quality, Service, Product Manager).
  • Good English.
  • Computer literate, specifically the MS Office package (Access included).
