Quality Manager / Senior Quality Inspector## About This Role Riv Cut is seeking a motivated Quality Inspector Intern to join our quality assurance team. This is an excellent opportunity for students or early-career professionals pursuing a career in manufacturing quality control to gain real-world experience in a precision CNC machine shop.
As a Quality Inspector Intern, you'll work alongside our experienced quality team, learning to inspect precision-machined components for aerospace, medical, and automotive industries. You'll develop practical skills in using coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), precision hand tools, and interpreting complex engineering drawings with GD&T specifications.
This flexible-hours internship is designed to accommodate academic schedules while providing meaningful, hands-on training that will accelerate your career in manufacturing quality. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time positions upon successful completion of the program.##
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with first-article and in-process inspections under supervision
* Learn to operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and optical comparators
* Practice using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, pin gauges)
* Study engineering drawings and GD&T specifications with guidance from senior inspectors
* Help create and maintain inspection reports and quality records
* Support receiving inspection of incoming materials
* Assist with calibration tracking and equipment maintenance logs
* Participate in quality team meetings and continuous improvement discussions
* Learn aerospace quality management system procedures
* Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly
* Maintain organized inspection area following 5S principles
* Shadow experienced inspectors during complex inspections## Requirements
* Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree/certificate program in manufacturing, quality, engineering, or related field
* 1+ year of relevant coursework, lab experience, or hands-on manufacturing exposure
* Basic understanding of precision measurement concepts
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
* Eagerness to learn and accept constructive feedback
* Good communication and documentation skills
* Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
* Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
* Ability to work flexible hours around academic schedule##
Preferred Qualifications
* Coursework in quality control, metrology, or manufacturing processes
* Exposure to GD&T concepts through coursework or training
* Previous internship or work experience in manufacturing environment
* Familiarity with blueprint reading
* Interest in pursuing ASQ certifications
* Experience with CAD software (Solid Works, Fusion 360)## Benefits & Perks
