Job SummaryAs the site Filed Safety Coordinator you will manage field personnel to ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, programs, procedures and legislative standards. You will communicate and contribute to the development of site-based programs, conduct onsite EHS audits and inspections, and provide recommendations for improving EHS performance and creating a NO HARM culture.
Furthermore, you will ensure all personnel and employees are informed of safe working procedures and practices so that they can fulfil their responsibilities and manage required compliance activities.
This position will be located in the Pecos, TX area.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Drive safety policies and procedures.
- Support safety training and education to employees.
- Monitor compliance with health andsafety regulations.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes.
- Support Audits incident investigations,and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of Near Miss and incidents to ensure safe work procedures are being followed in respectto Company policy, OHSA, EPA, DOT,and client/ company policy as well as applicable regulatory state and federal laws within specified area where work isbeing performed.
- Create and maintain safetydocumentation and reports.
- Work with management to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Coordinate emergency response drillsand training.
- Stay updated with industry safety trendsand regulations
- Advise on the selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Review customers permit systems,including requirements for site postingof permits, LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space procedures, and Bird electric liftplans.
- Assist case management/follow up &coordination of injured employee.
- Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various assignments.
- Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by assignment.
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Safety and health certification, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3+ years in a construction environment preferred
