POSITION OVERVIEW The Lab Tech III will assist in the development of new food products and line extensions by assisting in the blending, testing, and evaluation of prototypes. This position will play a crucial role in supporting the development process and ensuring the successful launch of new condiments and sauces. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, organized, and possess excellent prioritization skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in developing new condiment and sauce formulas by blending raw materials and conducting precise analytical assessments to quantify physical properties.
  • Assist other lab technicians on their product development efforts across categories other than condiments if time permits.
  • Perform internal taste tests and product evaluations to assess sensory attributes and gather feedback for further improvements.
  • Interact with both R&D personnel and cross-functional business partners to facilitate project completion.
  • Participates in selection of appropriate equipment/instrumentation and laboratory supplies.
  • Manage and replenish inventory of raw materials in the lab
  • Collect, record, and maintain accurate data related to raw materials and formula development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience, which can include a combination of work experience and college coursework.
  • High School Diploma and 24 college credits/CEUs in math/science
  • Advanced Lab skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to investigate issues, identify solutions, and provide recommendations to supervisors.
  • Ability to prioritize work with minimum supervision and work well under pressure.
  • Analytical skills
  • Good oral and written communication and decision-making skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science field (Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, etc.)
  • Experience working in a New Product Development lab environment.
  • Experience working with SAP and Dev Ex formula management system.

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick's Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan/ McCormick's Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan/ McCormick's Dividend Program .
