At AB Electronics, our focus is to bring our customers unrelenting quality, dependable on-time delivery, and best in class economics, from supply chain management to finished goods. We build value through long term partnerships, providing organizations with complete manufacturing solutions.
About the RoleAB Electronics is hiring a Test Technician to verify that finished circuit boards operate correctly and to drive fast, accurate debug when they don’t. This is performance-driven work where quality and turnaround are measurable.
Responsibilities- Execute functional testing per documented procedures and work instructions
- Troubleshoot, repair, and rework complex PCBAs (SMT and through-hole) to Category 3 level or higher
- Set up and use functional test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters)
- Diagnose and repair microprocessor circuitry
- Read and apply schematics, technical drawings, blueprints, and Gerber files
- Use the internal test troubleshooting database to capture findings and leverage prior debug history
- BOM and documentation discipline; intermediate computer literacy
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO 13485
- Active or expired IPC-610 certification
- Strong attention to detail and clear written/verbal communication
Must have strong visual acuity for inspecting small components, including under magnification. Able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Comfortable wearing PPE and working in a production environment. Use of handheld and/or machine operated electronic inspection tools and equipment is required.
Your Shift, Start to FinishYou start the day shift by reviewing the test queue and any open issues from prior builds, then get your bench and instruments ready before boards arrive. As units move through, you document outcomes in the troubleshooting database, compare results to previous debug notes, and keep your records clean for traceability. When a failure shows up, you work methodically—confirm the symptom, isolate the fault, and validate the fix before releasing the unit.
You’ll coordinate with peers when a problem spans multiple assemblies, stay focused under time pressure, and finish the day with clear handoffs so throughput and quality stay on track.
- Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
