JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A short-term, part-time researcher in the Groh Laboratory at Penn State will assist with field and laboratory activities supporting a silvopasture research study focused on soil and water quality.

  • collecting, processing, and analyzing soil and water samples
  • maintaining accurate records of sample handling and data collection
  • preparing samples for laboratory analysis
  • assisting with quality assurance and quality control procedures

The researcher will support ongoing investigations of how integrated tree-livestock grazing systems influence soil health, nutrient dynamics, water quality, and watershed processes. This position provides hands‑on experience in environmental and agricultural research while contributing to interdisciplinary efforts to advance sustainable land management practices.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.

This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
