The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work under the direction of Dr Mary-Ellen Taplin, MD. The position will work collaboratively with faculty in DFCI GU Medical Oncology to support projects involving a GU pathologist. These projects include prostate, bladder, kidney and testis cancer. Dr. Taplin’s research program is centered on clinical and translational investigations in genitourinary oncology, with a strong focus on prostate cancer, including localized high-risk disease and metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.
The fellow will contribute to pathology-focused translational research efforts in GU Oncology trials investigating novel treatment strategies, biomarker development and mechanisms of response and resistance in cancer trials.

Conduct pathology-focused translational research in GU malignancies, especially prostate cancer
Analyze tissue specimens and correlate pathologic findings with molecular and clinical data
Collaborate with clinicians, pathologists, and laboratory scientists on ongoing research studies
Assist with biospecimen annotation, data interpretation, and manuscript preparation
Present research findings in meetings and scientific forums
MD, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree in pathology, cancer biology, biomedical sciences, or related field
Interest in GU pathology, translational oncology, or prostate cancer research
Experience with tissue-based research, histology, immunohistochemistry, molecular methods, or related techniques
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
