Plant Biology Co‑op
In this R&D Plant Biology Co‑op role, you will support the technical development for greenhouse and growth chamber plant production and testing workflows, collaborating with researchers and scientists to achieve shared research goals and technical milestones.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Conduct plant biology research activities within controlled environments, including experimental planning, execution, data collection, and analysis, in collaboration with and under the mentorship of scientists and senior researchers;
- Document research plans, methods, results, and data analysis;
- Critically interpret experiment results, prepare and communicate reports and summaries in written and/or verbal form to supervisors and other stakeholders;
- Follow established operational standards including best practices, safety protocols, and compliance policies;
- Prioritize and coordinate work within a larger team and across functional groups;
- Execute experiments with the highest technical and quality standards, being detail-oriented and able to work independently and collaboratively;
- Be creative, self-motivated, and result-oriented;
- Have the unique opportunity to interact with technical experts from across R&D, including Plant Biotechnology, and contribute to innovation.
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
- Enrolled within a university in the US, pursuing a MS or PhD degree in Biology, Agronomy, Biotechnology, or a related field;
- Strong plant physiology, horticulture, or agronomy acumen with hands‑on experience in greenhouse or field environments;
- Ability to design, plan, and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $22.75 to $47.75. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant). This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
