The new UVM Soil Health Research and Extension Center ( SHREC ) is looking for a hands-on, motivated technician to join the team. The laboratory technician will take the lead on running biological, chemical, and physical soil health indicator protocols in the lab under guidance from the lab manager and other lab staff. They will accurately track soil samples through lab workflows and manage test results and accompanying metadata for client reporting and lab database purposes.
They will contribute and play a key role in a growing team committed to supporting soil health testing and research in Vermont.
B.S. in soil science, environmental sciences, natural resources, or closely related field.
One year of prior soils laboratory experience.
Knowledge of general laboratory safety protocols.
Experience with data organization.
Desirable QualificationsDemonstrated ability to work productively and collaboratively with others as part of a laboratory team.
Anticipated Pay RangeAnticipated Pay Range $22.43-$25.00/hr
