Postdoctoral Researcher – IM; Infectious Disease Briggs Lab

A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Neima Briggs, MD, PhD, in the Internal Medicine - Infectious Diseases and Geographic Division at UT Southwestern Medical Center to study how parasitic helminth infections shape host immunity and the associated clinical consequences. The Briggs Lab has several exciting projects related to studying CD4+ T-cell mechanisms of protection and tolerance, antibody-mediated immunity, and the development of anthelminthic vaccines.

The lab integrates experimental models with human samples from field studies in Honduras and Brazil, with broader goals of improving helminth vaccines and diagnostics and identifying immune-regulatory pathways relevant to inflammatory disease.

Candidates must hold a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. Extensive experience in basic or translational immunology is strongly preferred, but exceptional applicants in parasitology, infectious diseases, or related fields will be considered. Experience with murine models, human samples, flow or spectral cytometry, T-cell biology, molecular biology, antibody assays, single-cell RNA/TCR sequencing, and/or computational immunology is highly desirable. A strong record of scientific productivity is preferred.

The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing studies, develop new research directions, present findings, and participate in manuscript and grant preparation.
